Getting Ready

We are approaching the weekend and I am trying to get everything as organized as possible. I've been trying to get my house clean (a never ending project), get my laundry done, get groceries and other items well stocked, and confirm arrangements for my other children. The good news is that I was able to get off of my Friday night shift (Thanks guys!) so I can have more time to do these things as well as just have some quiet time with the family. It doesn't seem like much, but I just don't want to have to worry about anything but Ethan and my family during these upcoming days and weeks. It seems to be the little things that eventually drag me down.

Well, there is not much to say at the moment. Sunday morning I have to take Ethan back up to Primary's for pre-op exams, x-rays, and blood work. I am not sure what else we will have to do while we are there but I know that this is when we will receive the time schedule for his surgery on Monday.

Also, I've heard from a couple of people that they are unsure of how to make comments to these posts. If you would like, you can use an existing account, or create one (it's free), or you can just use the "anonymous" button, however, if you use this one just make sure to identify yourself in your message so we know who you are. We would love to hear from all of you. It's one of the best parts of my day to get kind words of support and love. We hope everyone is doing well. As always, thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Well,
This all seems to be moving in a very fast direction. Hopefully, Ethan will be home and well before Alex even gets there. We have heard some about the post-op situation. I guess the things I remember seeing the most from Bryson Quinney, was that he seemed to have the most amazing head ache ever. The tried to do anything to help it. Lower the lights, not talk or touch him... Let him sleep as much as possible.. He was off the vent the very next day and he did great in recovery. I remember him having to go home on o2s still and he also got an infection. They talked a bunch about how they removed old scar tissue and made his scar seem better looking. He was home after about 10 days.... Your Ethan seemed to not have any slip-ups before, not like Alex... I am sure he will sail through this too.... We'll keep praying for him... Brynn

Hey Allison! It's Melanie! I love your blog and it's so nice to be able to keep up with what's going on with you guys. We pray for you every day! Little Ethan is so cute -- I love the "Under Construction" outfit. He looks more like you than any of your other kids ... it must be fun to finally have one who looks like you!

I absolutely LOVE the story about the "Give Thanks" blocks. I agree that Heavenly Father has little messages like that for us throughout our lives. What an amazing story.

By the way, I wish I lived closer, I would totally come over and help you clean, or cook or fold laundry or whatever! I hope you have enough help around you to minimize stress and be able to have the peaceful weekend you're hoping for.

It's me Jody

This is amazing, and as I mentioned before you and Tim are amazing parents. Ethan is so cute, looks just like a Curtis! I loved the give thanks story. Believe it or not I named my Ethan knowing the meaning of his name. At 5 he has the most glowing and strong personality in our family despite remaining so small ( he is still wearing 3T clothes). You Etha will be the same, I know it! Good luck on Monday, you are always in my prayers, but I will make sure and say a special prayer on Monday. Continue with faith, and enjoy that darling smile. I love you hope to see you in the Hopsital after the sugery. Jody

Tim & Allison,
You guys are so wonderful and my Grandkids are the most magnificent in the world, as well as being the brightest and most beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing with all of us. We're all praying for you and Ethan. I have his picture right in front of the computer so I can see it often. He looks like he's listening and so some times I talk to him (Grampas can do that).
Wish we were there.
Love You
Dad & Mom
