Echo Results

So today Ethan and I went up to PCMC to get another echo to check out Ethan's heart function. I took my camera thinking I would get a cute picture but unfortunately he was very squirmy and I had to help hold him down. So this was taken just after.
But anyway, after talking with our Cardiologist, he says that there is improvement in Ethan's heart function. Our first echo was labeled "below normal", our last echo was " low normal" and today he said he would put us in the "normal" category (for HLHS hearts of course). YEAH!!!

Also, he increased his Enalapril again and said that we didn't need to go back for 6 months! Can I hear another YEAH?!?!?!

I knew that I was nervous going into this appointment but I guess I didn't realize how much until after it was over. I definitely felt relieved while in the office talking with the MD. But I quickly found myself very emotional on the drive home. I guess it just takes some quiet time to let everything sink in. I am pleased to say that the tears today were of relief and gratitude.
I am continually amazed and touched by all of the blessings that I have in my life.
What a roller coaster ride!

Thank you sweet Jesus! I have been thinking about you guys today and I am so, so happy the results were positive. Sometimes I think being a heart mom is like living in a constant state of PTSD. It's always *after* that I fall apart.

I am SO very happy to hear about the echo results!!! I know how aweful it is to hear the words "poor function" and I just melt because there is nothing that can be done. What a relief that he is doing so well!! I am thrilled to hear the news!! Did I mention how stinkin adorable he is??
