We Got the Call

So it seems that this cute little man will be having his 3rd surgery (the Fontan) on Tuesday, November 3rd. Although we obviously new it was coming, just having a date starts bringing on the tears and anxiety.
I am relived that it will happen after the kids' soccer and football seasons are over. I was worried about how to get 3 different kids to 3 different places while we were in the hospital. Also, as superficial as it sounds, it also doesn't hurt that it will be after Halloween. I already bought his costume and I was really hoping that he would be able to enjoy the festivities this year. All in all, none of those things really matter, but it sure makes it a whole lot easier for the older kids when they don't have to give up as much.
Anyway, between now and then, we will keep on feeding Ethan anything that he will eat and hopefully he can gain a pound or two before November. Keep us in your prayers.

Oh Allison.... even though you knew it was coming, now it's "official". My heart aches for you and the anxiety you must be feeling! Please know that we will continue praying for you guys, and know that everything will be fine!
I am also glad that the timing seems to be right too!

Setting a date definitely make it "real." We'll be praying lots for you guys, and I'm definitely glad that it will be after Halloween so Ethan can trick or treat with his siblings. That will give him lots of candy to help recuperate.

Maybe if you let him eat all of his Halloween candy the next day he will gain a lb or 2. We will definitely keep you in our prayers. Hope that all does well.

No, it is not superficial to just want to live your life. Will keep your family in our prayers.

Definitely not superficial! It was honestly h*** trying to manage everything! We actually brought Addy home for the second time on Halloween, and even though it was a CRAZY night, I'm so glad we got to be here for the kids to trick or treat! Also this way hopefully he'll feel better for the other holidays! We love you guys!

I just got finished typing a blog on how I was going to do it all. Then I switch to your blog and see what is up around the bend for you. Much harder than what I just complained about in my blog. You are in my prayers every night. I hope this surgery goes as all the others have, smooth. I know that it is going to be hard, and I am grateful that it is coming at a more slow time for you. I love and miss you... Jody
